When is it appropriate to tell personal stories in class? Can it be a useful learning tool? In this teacher-training workshop, we will explore elements of storytelling and a specific form of improvisational theater, in which personal stories are told and then spontaneously performed. We will cover:

  • Theoretical introduction (What is improv and Playback Theatre, how can it be useful in lessons, how is it related to mediation)
  • Exercises that can build rapport at the beginning of the course and create a supportive learning atmosphere.
  • Exercises that challenge participants with relaying information and solidifying lessons learned.
  • Reflect on how we use these methods already and could use them in the future, e.g. for mediation.

The course will be held mostly in English, but questions and reflection can be in German as well. A B2-level of English is recommended for participants.
